Christian Schuetz, MD
Dr. Christian Schuetz received his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1997 from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He earned his Medical Degree in 2003 at the American University of the Caribbean, Saint Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. Dr. Schuetz completed his general surgery internship in 2003, and residency in 2008 at the University of South Florida, where he also served as chief resident. He completed his Surgical Critical Care Fellowship in June 2009 at the University of South Florida.
Dr Schuetz enjoys Surgical Critical Care in addition to trauma and acute care surgery, but is trained in all aspects of surgical care including the most current minimally invasive techniques.
Dr Schuetz is Board Eligible in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Rona Altaras, MD, FACS
Dr.Rona Altaras received his medical degree from Karl Franzens University, Graz Austria in 1992. Between 1993-1997 he underwent training in general medicine in Styria ,Austria. He was first a surgical intern then a resident in Northshore/Long Island Jewish Hospital, New Hyde Park, New York between 1999-2001. Dr.Altaras continued his general surgical training in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he served as chief resident in 2004/2005. After graduation he gained further experience in Adelaide, South Australia in 2006/2007. Between the years of 2007-2011 he served as an attending general and trauma surgeon in Aria and Capital Health Systems located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Trenton, New Jersey. In the academic year of 2011/2012 he underwent further training in surgical critical care in Lehigh Valley Health System, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Altaras is dual board certified both in general surgery and surgical critical care. Besides trauma and critical care he also enjoys general surgery,especially treatment of abdominal wall defects.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of Eastern Association of Trauma,Society of Critical Care Medicine,SAGES and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.

Stanley Kurek, DO, FACS
Trauma Medical Director
Dr. Stanley J Kurek, Jr. DO, FACS graduated with his medical degree in 1993 from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Residency and Chief Surgical Residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center/Temple University in Johnstown, PA in 1999. He completed a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Lehigh Valley Hospital/Penn State University (LVH) in 1999. He then became Chief of the Pediatric Trauma Division at LVH.
During his tenure at LVH Dr. Kurek was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Penn State University College of Medicine and a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Attending. In 2004, Dr. Kurek relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where he was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina University Hospital. While there he started and directed the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, as well as being the Medical Director of Surgical Critical Care and Medical Director of Surgical Quality, Safety and Clinical Effectiveness. His most recent position before coming to LRMC was Trauma Medical Director and Director of Surgical Critical Care at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was Medical Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and Associate Professor of Surgery within the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
Dr. Kurek is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and sits on the Executive Committee of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. He has had numerous publications, abstracts and articles and has done many national presentations. His interests are Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and advanced laparoscopy.

Patrick Regan, DO
Dr. Patrick J Regan is board certified by the American Board of surgery. Dr. Regan was born in Pennsylvania and did his residency at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Regan practices in the fields of trauma surgery, general surgery, and pediatric surgery. During his career, Dr. Regan has received numerous awards including recognition for his compassionate and humanistic care of his patients.
During his off time Dr. Reagan's interests include weight training and cars. Dr. Regan can be contacted at 772-462-3939.
